Colours of Khartoum

Overall colour scheme for Khartoum New International Airport, Sudan - inspired by the colours found amongst the people and in the urban landscape of the city.

Colour spectrums are identified and applied within the architecture of the new airport to create identity and to assist way-finding systems. Shades of green and emerald are allocated to all airport related buildings such as the passenger terminal, whereas blue represents meditative activities and all religion related structures. Varying tones of yellow and lime found in Khartoum's street life and local markets are chosen for the commercial cluster of buildings.
